YANKEE STADIUM - Art

The original Yankee Stadium, The house that Ruth built, the Cathedral in The Bronx. There is and will never be another sporting venue like it. Gone is this historical footprint to Yankee, Baseball and indeed American history. Gone is the field for which Ruth and Gehrig played and gave their final requiems... Gone is the field where the great DiMaggio roamed like no other. Gone is the stadium, the facade for which the great Mickey Mantle clouted massive bombs and ran the bases like a Deer... Gone are the players footprints that shall never imprint again... Thurman Munson, Roger Maris, Don Mattingly, Goose Gossage, Billy Martin, Roy White, Bob Shepard, Phil Rizzutto and so many others. Gone are the moments with my Father at Yankee Stadium... Gone is the pitchers mound for which my uncle Charlie Pucciarelli tried-out from and was scouted by Paul Krichell... Through the images of photographer Dave Pucciarelli, we can at least reflect on the moments that touched us beyond the sport...
